The discovery was made at the Türkmen Karahöyük archaeological site, which is noted for its multilayered settlement spanning various historical periods. The amulet, found within a copper case, is described as a rare find, possibly serving as a protective charm.
Alongside the gold-sheet amulet, the excavation team also uncovered older artifacts, including a stone seal with a Luwian inscription dating to approximately 1500-1400 B.C. The seal bears the name 'Kurunti-ziti,' linked to a Hittite god. This administrative center yielded further finds like copper and clay seals, highlighting the site's historical significance.
