Michael Empric, an official from Guinness World Records, verified the record, ensuring every sandwich touched to meet the criteria. He highlighted the event's strong connection to Philadelphia's community spirit.
After the record was officially recognized, the delicious cheesesteaks were generously donated to airport staff. This included TSA officials who had been working without pay for weeks due to the partial government shutdown that began the previous month.
