- A viral video and son's plea led to his decision to seek sobriety.
- He faced pneumonia twice, losing 11 kilograms during a seven-week hospital stay.

Wayne Lineker, the founder of Ibiza's O Beach club, has shared his journey to sobriety after a 13-year battle with alcohol dependency. He admitted to drinking as many as 16 Spanish measures of alcohol daily for over a decade. This lifestyle led to concerns about his health and risked his business, especially after a viral video of him intoxicated in the DJ booth emerged.
His turning point came after an emotional confrontation with his son, Freddie, a DJ, who was distressed by his father's inability to sleep due to his drinking and drug use. Lineker then entered a rehabilitation facility, facing challenges such as attending his daughter Tia's wedding just four weeks into his treatment.
Following his rehabilitation, Lineker contracted severe pneumonia twice, resulting in a seven-week hospitalization. During this period, he lost 11 kilograms and experienced two near-death incidents, which profoundly impacted his perspective on life. Now seven months sober, Lineker is focusing on his health and has no plans to return to O Beach, stating he is enjoying his sober life.
