Mom's Airport Pizza Hack Goes Viral

A traveling mom from Oregon is gaining widespread attention for her creative approach to feeding her family during a flight delay. Ali Van De Graaff, documenting her family's travel adventures, shared a video of how she managed to get fresh pizza for her four children by ordering it for curbside delivery at Rogue Valley International-Medford Airport.

The family was traveling when their flight was unexpectedly delayed. With limited food options and high prices at the small regional airport, Van De Graaff and her husband decided to order pizza. Using a delivery app, they tracked the order and had it delivered directly to the airport, allowing them to pick it up before heading back through security.

Van De Graaff, who possesses TSA PreCheck, found the process smooth, with even a TSA agent complimenting the idea. The family then boarded their flight with the pizza, much to the delight of the children who experienced eating on a plane for the first time. While the stunt was celebrated by many as an innovative parenting strategy, it also ignited a debate online.

Critics raised concerns about the strong smell of pizza potentially bothering other passengers and the practicality of carrying large pizza boxes onboard. Etiquette experts suggested considering the size and disposal of food items. However, supporters argued that it's a reasonable alternative to costly airport meals, especially during extended delays, and pointed out that other food smells can be equally or more offensive.
