- A £6,000 restoration left the vehicle with significant new problems.
A cherished 1976 Citroen 2CV, bought with funds from a late mother's inheritance, has become a source of distress for its owner, Ribs Norman. The vehicle was acquired in memory of Sylvia Norman, who passed away at 58.
Relocating to Finland, Norman was unaware her van was left abandoned in a field near Herne Bay. She eventually located it using Google Earth.
Despite a £6,000 restoration, the van's condition deteriorated, presenting new problems with welding, bodywork, paint, and electrics. Norman, a science technician, is now tackling these issues with a manual and documenting her progress online.
