Tennis icon Venus Williams has debuted two new home decor collections through a collaboration with Crate & Barrel. These lines draw inspiration from her extensive career in professional tennis and her long-standing work in interior design. Williams, who founded V. Starr Interiors in 2002, approached this project with her characteristic dedication, emphasizing the hard work required to bring creative visions to life.
The main Crate & Barrel collection showcases sophisticated Italian midcentury modern design, featuring rounded furniture in muted tones, marble accessories, and pottery influenced by European hotels and vintage markets. Williams specifically cited Milan as a key research location for this line.
Complementing the sophisticated range, the Crate & Kids collection offers a more playful take, with direct references to tennis. Items include racket-shaped mirrors, "LOVE" pillows, and quilts designed to look like tennis courts. Williams expressed that this line embodies the type of room she would have cherished as a child.
This launch coincides with a period of significant recognition for Williams' impact beyond the sport. In August 2025, Mattel released a Venus Williams Barbie doll, honoring her influential style. Williams has also been a vocal advocate for equal prize money, a cause that saw a major milestone at Wimbledon in 2007.
