On the auspicious occasion of Hari Prabodhini Ekadashi, Varanasi's Ganga Mahotsav, a four-day cultural extravaganza, kicked off at Namo Ghat last month. UP Minister Ravindra Jaiswal inaugurated the music festival, which featured mesmerizing vocal and instrumental performances, as well as captivating dance recitals.
The festivities began with sacred rituals at the Kashi Vishwanath Temple complex, where 11 priests recited the 'Vishnu Sahasranama' at the Shri Badrinaarayan and Shri Lakshmi Narayan temples. Devotees chanted "Har Har Mahadev" and "Hari Har" as prasad was distributed. Namami Gange volunteers also performed rituals at the ancient Aadikeshav temple, offering prayers for the country's prosperity.
The Ganga Mahotsav celebrations will culminate on November 5th with the Dev Deepawali festivities on Kartik Purnima. The Namami Gange team has also conducted a cleanliness drive at the Aadikeshav Ghat, promoting environmental conservation. Tulsi plants were distributed among devotees, highlighting the significance of Tulsi in purifying the air and creating a positive atmosphere.
