On November 4, 2025, the holy city of Varanasi, also known as Kashi, is preparing to celebrate the grand Dev Deepawali festival with great fervor and devotion. The city is set to be illuminated with lakhs of earthen lamps and electric lights along the ghats and the opposite bank of the Ganga river, creating a mesmerizing confluence of devotion and beauty.
In addition to the traditional lighting, the celebrations will feature a range of modern elements, including 3D laser shows, a synchronized green firecracker display in the trans-Ganga area, and a variety of cultural programs. The sand area across the Ganga will be bathed in colorful lights during the choreographed firecracker show, while a laser show will illuminate the sky above the river with vibrant beams on the full moon night.
As the festivities unfold, the city will also witness a 25-minute '3D Kashi Katha' projection mapping and laser show at Chet Singh Ghat, showcasing the unique spiritual and cultural journey of Kashi from ancient times to the modern era. The show will begin with the sound of the conch and damru, symbolizing the presence of Lord Shiva, and will depict scenes from the city's rich history and devotional legacies.
