Bertinelli Ditches Weight Loss Drugs, Embraces Natural Health

Valerie Bertinelli has revealed that she has successfully maintained a slimmer physique without the use of GLP-1 medications, such as Ozempic, which are popular for weight loss and blood sugar control. The 65-year-old Food Network alum, who previously served as a spokesperson for Jenny Craig, shared her perspective on personal health choices with People magazine.

Bertinelli expressed strong support for individuals who have found weight loss medications beneficial for their well-being. She believes that people should pursue whatever methods make them feel good about themselves, advocating for a reduction in societal judgment concerning weight loss strategies. Her upcoming book, 'Getting Naked: The Quiet Work of Becoming Perfectly Imperfect,' due out March 10, delves deeper into these themes.

She also touched upon her experiences with cosmetic procedures, including Botox and breast implants. Bertinelli mentioned having her breast implants secretly removed two years ago, an experience that led to significant complications, including a serious infection and the need for further surgery. Despite past procedures, she remains open to future possibilities like a neck lift or trying GLP-1s, stating, 'It's also helped a lot of people.'

Reflecting on her personal life, Bertinelli's long-distance romance with writer Mike Goodnough concluded in 2024. She was previously married to financial planner Tom Vitale from 2011 to 2022, and before that, to musician Eddie Van Halen from 1981 to 2007. Bertinelli shared in March 2023 that healing from toxic relationships involves moving towards indifference, not necessarily forgiveness.
