Uttarakhand to Launch 'Snow Leopard Tour'

The Uttarakhand government is spearheading a new 'Snow Leopard Tour' to significantly enhance winter tourism across the state. This pioneering initiative, launched under the Chief Minister's directive, aims to open remote Himalayan regions, such as Gangotri National Park, to tourists in a carefully managed way.

The plan emphasizes promoting local economies by encouraging homestays, hiring local guides, and developing adventure tourism. Alongside this, the state will host various activities including skiing, trekking, and cultural festivals in popular destinations like Auli, Mussoorie, and Rishikesh, fostering year-round visitor appeal.

To ensure successful implementation, authorities are coordinating infrastructure restoration, including roads and hotels, and are engaging with hoteliers and stakeholders. Efforts are also underway to revive events like the Himalayan Car Rally and helicopter skiing, positioning Uttarakhand as a premier winter travel spot.
