20 Sep
Summary
- Ex-spouses and fiancée share a home with children.
- Divorce led to a strong friendship and co-parenting.
- A new child was born into the blended family unit.
Linda Fruits, aged 37, has built an unconventional family structure that includes her ex-husband, Christopher Harrington, her fiancée, Maddy Gross, and their children. Following her realization of being a lesbian and coming out in August 2021, Fruits and Harrington divorced in February 2024, maintaining a strong friendship.
To support their children and pool resources, Fruits and Harrington chose to continue living together. This arrangement necessitated open communication and a redefinition of personal boundaries for all adults involved.
In May 2023, the family expanded with the birth of Arlo, conceived through artificial insemination with Harrington providing sperm and wanting to be recognized as the father. This brought the total adults to three and children to three.
Fruits and Gross became engaged in August 2025. They are intentionally delaying their wedding until their children are old enough to meaningfully participate in the ceremony.
