This experience highlights growing dissatisfaction with rigid wedding regulations.

Recognizing these issues, the government has proposed significant changes, potentially the most substantial in two centuries. These reforms aim to grant couples more freedom in choosing where they can legally marry. Under the new plans, a wider array of unconventional locations, such as forests and beaches, could become permissible for official ceremonies, provided they are approved by a registered officiant.
