The acclaimed Too Sweet Cakes, recently voted the third-best cake shop in the United States by USA TODAY, is expanding its presence with a new flagship bakery. This highly anticipated location is slated to open in Paradise Valley in October 2026. Owner Shelbi Geyer, a pastry chef with training from Le Cordon Bleu, established the business in 2016, evolving it from a wholesale operation to multiple storefronts across Oregon and Arizona.
The new 1,800-square-foot flagship bakery is designed to be a welcoming "third place" for customers, offering ample seating for socializing. Chef Geyer envisions it as a "neighborhood French bakery" with a simple black and white interior and a blush exterior. The menu will include signature items like cronuts, alongside breakfast pastries, cupcakes, a full coffee program, baguette sandwiches, and pizza.
This expansion represents a significant milestone for Geyer, allowing for more creative freedom in design and menu offerings compared to her previous ventures. "I've realized who I get to do it with has been the best part of my job," Geyer stated, highlighting the importance of her team. The bakery will operate daily from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. at 4568 E. Cactus Road, Phoenix.
