The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) has announced a temporary suspension of Sarva Darshan (SSD) tokens in Tirupati from January 24 to January 26. This decision comes in anticipation of a large influx of pilgrims for the Ratha Saptami festival, which will be observed on January 25 at Tirumala.
During this period, various Arjitha Sevas, including Kalyanotsavam and Unjal Seva, have been cancelled. Privilege darshans for NRIs, parents with infants, senior citizens, and the differently-abled are also suspended. VIP darshans remain cancelled, and recommendation letters will not be accepted on January 24.
Preparations for Ratha Saptami are extensive, involving strong security coordination, a buffer stock of 5 lakh laddus, and adequate arrangements for parking and traffic management. The ceremonial procession of Lord Venkateswara on various vahanams throughout the day will be accompanied by cultural programs and chanting.
