Summary
- Tiffany reimagined Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis' favorite bracelet as a watch.
- The new watch features paillonné enamel, a 19th-century technique.
- The watch's design echoes Schlumberger's 1960s croisillon bangle.

Tiffany & Company has introduced the Croisillon Paillonné Enamel watch, a novel timepiece inspired by the house's famed paillonné enamel bangle. This bangle was a signature accessory for Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis, who frequently wore the 1960s Jean Schlumberger creation in various colors, earning it the nickname "Jackie bracelet."
The new watch miniaturizes a decorative ring from the original bangle and integrates it within a watch dial. This reflects Tiffany's strategic approach since its acquisition by LVMH in 2021: adapting iconic jewelry styles into timepieces. "Our watches draw from the house's design heritage while evolving these iconic motifs," stated Nicolas Beau, senior vice president of Tiffany Horlogerie.
The Croisillon Paillonné Enamel watch highlights the paillonné enameling technique, a 19th-century process involving gold or silver leaf under translucent enamel. Artisans in Limoges, France, meticulously apply this technique, with each ring requiring approximately 55 hours of enameling. Two versions of the miniature rings are available, in a 36-millimeter case, one in Tiffany Blue and the other in white, both featuring alligator straps.
Tiffany's watchmaking efforts continue to blend its jewelry artistry with Swiss precision. Recent successful translations include the HardWear and Rope watches. The Bird on a Rock watch, a theatrical piece, also showcases Schlumberger's designs, demonstrating the brand's commitment to evolving its heritage motifs into new forms.
