Tennessee Winery Defies Napa Dominance, Crafts Acclaimed Red Blend

As of November 2025, Arrington Vineyards, located just 30 minutes south of Nashville, has been making a name for itself in the world of winemaking. Co-founder Kip Summers and winemaker Chase Vienneau have spent the last two decades coaxing character out of Tennessee's soil, proving that excellent wine can come from outside the traditional Napa Valley region.

The winery's latest offering, a red blend called "Antiquity," is now featured in the Fox News Wine Shop. This wine is made from the Chambourcin grape, which Vienneau says is well-suited to Tennessee's climate, with its cool nights, warm days, and humid summers. Unlike the more finicky Cabernet Sauvignon, the Chambourcin grape thrives in these conditions, allowing Arrington Vineyards to produce a "really good, consistent dry red wine" year after year.

In addition to the wine, Arrington Vineyards offers visitors a unique experience just a short drive from Nashville. Summers explains that the winery was founded with the goal of providing a "place for people to enjoy a little bit of wine country" in Middle Tennessee, complete with live music on weekends. The setting, surrounded by vineyards, allows guests to savor the wine, cheese, and charcuterie while taking in the scenic views – an opportunity not easily found elsewhere in the region.
