Tamzin Outhwaite: My son's journey made us closer

Tamzin Outhwaite, a mother of two, has spoken about the importance of diversity and her journey as a parent to a transgender child. Her eldest, Flo, who came out as transgender at around age 10 or 11, is now 17 and described by Outhwaite as thriving as a "brilliant actor, singer, writer, and director." Outhwaite shared that while the family's journey has been long, they are now in a "great place" and closer than ever.

The former EastEnders star emphasized that her son's happiness is paramount, noting that "there were some dark times" but family therapy has helped them reach a "wonderful place." She also spoke about maintaining boundaries, with specific permission to discuss her son's journey on a particular podcast.

Beyond her family life, Outhwaite is also prioritizing her personal well-being. She recently underwent a high-tech skin-lifting treatment called NeoGen, opting for a non-surgical alternative to feel "younger." Additionally, she continues to balance a demanding acting schedule, currently touring with "Abigail's Party," with her commitment to fitness, even while navigating menopause.

Her career remains active, with upcoming television projects hinted at for a summer release. Reflecting on her iconic role as Mel Owen in EastEnders, Outhwaite humorously suggested a return might only be possible if Mel appeared as a ghost.
