Summary
- Steve-O transformed 44 acres near Nashville into an animal sanctuary.
- The Radical Ranch cares for rescued goats, pigs, cats, and dogs.
- Its mission focuses on individual animal care and promoting compassion.
In 2023, former Jackass star Steve-O purchased a 44-acre property near Nashville, Tennessee, with the unique goal of creating an animal sanctuary. Now known as The Radical Ranch, the facility officially became a 501(c)(3) nonprofit in 2024. It currently houses nine rescued animals, including goats, pigs, cats, and dogs, with plans for future expansion.
The sanctuary's mission emphasizes individual animal care and promoting compassion through direct, positive encounters. This approach stems from Steve-O's prior discomfort with animal treatment in circuses. The Radical Ranch aims to showcase animals' intelligence and emotional capacity, moving away from shock-based tactics.
Steve-O is actively planning to grow the sanctuary by adding more animals like cows and donkeys, and improving infrastructure such as fencing and a chicken coop. While currently not open to the public as Steve-O resides on the property, he envisions future visitor access to aid fundraising and enhance public connection with the animals. Donations directly support animal care and operational costs.
