Sten Parties: Couples Ditch Stag and Hen Nights for Shared Pre-Wedding Celebrations

As of September 2025, a new trend is emerging in the world of pre-wedding celebrations: sten parties. These joint bachelor and bachelorette parties are quickly gaining popularity among soon-to-be-weds who would rather double the fun and skip the fear of missing out (FOMO) by celebrating together.

Couples like Vedika Chouhan and Anirudh Agarwal, who got married in Jaipur last year, have embraced the sten party concept. They organized a sten sundowner in the middle of a jungle, which allowed them to get to know each other's friends better. "It was a total hit... Just the fact that we could dance our hearts out through a shared celebration, unlike the usual bachelor's and bachelorettes' parties, made it truly special," Vedika says.

Wedding planners have also observed a surge in couples requesting combined bachelor and bachelorette parties. "Today's couples want to celebrate together with their close circle, instead of having separate celebrations. It reflects a shift toward inclusivity and shared experiences," explains Dheera Likhi, founder of Parinaya Sutra, a luxury wedding planning service.

Couples are finding unique ways to infuse fun into sten parties, from pool parties with DJs to festival-style weekends and even adventure-filled trips. Some have organized murder mystery nights, retro Bollywood themes, and wellness-focused sten celebrations.
