Summary

- A new, exciting fundraiser will replace the beloved walk.

St Luke's Cheshire Hospice has announced the conclusion of its beloved midnight walk, a fundraising event that has run for 21 years. The final walk is scheduled to take place on Saturday, June 27, from Reaseheath College. This iconic event has successfully generated over £2.5 million since its inception in 2005.
Participants traditionally walked either six or nine miles between Nantwich and Crewe under the stars. Events lead Debra Sloan explained the decision to end the walk was a positive step towards evolving the charity's fundraising efforts. She noted the increasing difficulty of fundraising and the desire to offer new, engaging events for supporters.
Planning the annual walk required six months of dedicated effort, including the coordination of over 100 stewards. While the decision was made with consideration for the event's popularity, Sloan emphasized the need for change as "people want something new." Discussions are ongoing for a replacement fundraiser, with details to be revealed soon.
