Spokane St. Paddy's Parade: Snow Can't Stop the Fun
15 Mar
Summary
- Record snowfall did not deter Spokane's St. Patrick's Day Parade.
- Children enjoyed candy, concrete trucks, and Irish dancers.
- Some attendees noted a smaller turnout than in previous years.

Record snowfall did not prevent Spokane from celebrating St. Patrick's Day with its annual parade on Saturday, March 14, 2026. Streets in downtown Spokane were filled with the sounds of bagpipes, the sights of Irish dancers, and a sea of green attire.
Families, including the Morris family, attended the parade despite the chilly weather. Young Jett and Houston Morris, attending their first parade, enjoyed the candy and the impressive display of six concrete trucks. Connie Dalla noted that her granddaughter, Karena Hughes, was enthusiastic about collecting candy, calling the event a new Halloween for her.
Despite the festive atmosphere, some, like Connie Dalla, felt the turnout was less than in previous years. This might be attributed to the 8.2 inches of snow Spokane received on Friday, March 13, 2026, setting a new record, or a slightly shortened parade route along West Spokane Falls Boulevard. Others, like Joe and Kori Rees, kept their 20-year tradition alive, enjoying the community spirit and the performances by friends.
First-time attendee Jeff Fox, a 24-year resident of Spokane, enjoyed the vintage vehicles, dancers, flute players, and even a group of pugs. The parade showcased community businesses and offered a vibrant representation of Spokane's spirit.
