Reality TV star Spencer Matthews believes his wife, Vogue Williams, would have left him had he continued his heavy drinking. Matthews, 37, confessed that his former 'boozy lifestyle' created a significant divide in their relationship.

He realized his drinking habits were abnormal when Williams became pregnant with their eldest child, Theodore. This realization, coupled with his wife's abstinence during pregnancy, highlighted the difference in their habits and prompted introspection.

Matthews recounted how conversations with Williams about his solitary drinking eventually led him to question his own behavior. He noted that his past roles, like being a trader, incentivized heavy drinking, with 10 pints of Guinness daily being common.

A moment of clarity occurred when he found himself drinking alone at night. Waking up after a night of heavy drinking, he decided he no longer needed that in his life. He acknowledged that his journey would have been harder without a partner who doesn't favor alcohol.

Spencer no longer considers himself an alcoholic, as he can now drink in moderation. He has transitioned from daily problem drinking to irregular, moderate consumption, achieving balance in his life. This comes amidst recent public displays of affection between the couple, dispelling rumors of marital difficulties.
