A captivating one-story ranch in Spartanburg's Calhoun Estates, once home to musician and hairstylist Ralph Rivera, is available for $1.4 million. Rivera, a Vietnam War veteran, was a singer and guitarist for the alternative rock band Anthem before becoming a hairstylist.
He dedicated his hairdressing tips to the Spartanburg Humane Society. The 5,400-square-foot residence showcases his appreciation for the arts with numerous collections, antiques, and nature-inspired paintings.
Features include floor-to-ceiling windows, wide walnut floors, a grand fireplace, and an idyllic garden with an in-ground pool. The home offers four bedrooms, a flex room, and a gourmet kitchen with high-end appliances.
Rivera, who passed away in 2019 at age 71, is survived by his wife, Dr. Brenda McGregor, who is selling the home. Their niece, Nora Hooper, is managing the sale, describing the home as a place where "architecture, history, and family come together."
