Lifelong friends Charlie Hutchings-Sait and Dan Lee are currently undertaking an extraordinary 500km (310 miles) skateboarding challenge from London to Amsterdam. Setting off from central London last Friday, they have already traversed Kent and northern France, reaching Ostend, Belgium, on Tuesday. Their journey, dubbed 'Pushing for Purpose,' is planned to take 10 days, involving camping as they travel towards the Dutch capital.
Now both 30 years old, Hutchings-Sait and Lee, who have been friends since the age of two, are aiming to cover 30-35 miles daily to reach Amsterdam by the weekend. They are raising funds for three vital charities: the Alzheimer's Society, MacMillan Cancer Support, and the road safety charity Brake, having garnered almost £2,000 so far. Lee described the experience as a "memory we'll never forget."
