Members of the Knit and Natter group at Shrewsbury's Shire Living scheme have completed a heartwarming project, crafting 60 teddy bears over a three-month period.
Approximately 18 individuals participated in the initiative, with the finished bears destined to be carried on fire engines across Shropshire. These comforting companions will be provided by firefighters to assist children and vulnerable adults experiencing distress.
This is not the first charitable endeavor for the group, which has previously shown its community spirit by knitting 120 blankets and bonnets for the Telford maternity unit and creating items for Severn Hospice. The project highlights the group's commitment to making a tangible difference.
