Victoria Heslop, 50, has come forward with allegations of severe burns and blistering caused by a £1.88 strapless bra purchased from Shein. The incident occurred in September 2025 while Heslop was attending a friend's 60th birthday party. Several hours into the festivities, she began experiencing an intense itch from the disposable bra.
Upon returning home, Heslop discovered her skin was red and blistered in the areas covered by the bra. The condition worsened over the following days, leading to an infection. She sought medical attention, and her GP treated the wounds, which took two weeks to heal. Heslop asserts that she has been left with noticeable scarring.
She contacted Shein to report the issue, receiving a refund for the product. However, Heslop claims that despite sending pictures and further emails, the fast-fashion brand has since ceased communication. Shein stated they are investigating the complaint, removed the item from their site as a precaution, and are in contact with the customer.
