For close to 20 years, the 87-year-old has become a local icon, recognized by his bright green wig and custom pram as he navigates Sheffield. Artist Pete McKee celebrated Burkhill's impact, stating he is as integral to Sheffield as its landmarks.
Burkhill's extensive efforts include participating in over 1,000 events, even completing marathons in London and New York. He reached his £1 million target in May 2023 and received a Points of Light award from the prime minister in September 2023.
More recently, he was honored with a Sheffield Legends Star. Now, Burkhill has set his sights on a new goal of £2 million, with a raffle featuring a portrait of him by artist Pete McKee launched to aid his ambitious target.
