A feral cat named Dibbles, who spent 11 years roaming a scrapyard in Colwick, Nottinghamshire, has been rescued. The cat had lived on the site for over a decade, accepting food from the owner and locals but remaining elusive to humans. Volunteers from Cat Patrol were alerted when the scrapyard's business closed and the land was slated for housing development, prompting concerns for the cat's welfare.
After several attempts using humane traps, Dibbles was eventually secured by Cat Patrol volunteers. The rescue group's co-founder, Zoey Sheffield, reported that Dibbles is responding well to care and showing encouraging signs of adapting. It is suspected that Dibbles may have been spayed previously, and her long-term survival on her wits suggests she may have been abandoned or her owner passed away years ago.
