At the recent Le Bal des Débutantes in Paris, 20-year-old Cornell University student Ruby Kemper captivated attendees with a bespoke Chrome Hearts gown. The striking pink lace creation, designed in collaboration with Chrome Hearts co-owners Richard and Laurie Lynn Stark and their daughter Frankie, was a deeply personal choice. Kemper explained that the dress was crafted to reflect her Los Angeles roots, a sentiment she wished to express at the historic event.
The meticulous gown, requiring over 900 hours of craftsmanship, also signified a milestone for Chrome Hearts as the first time the Hollywood-based brand was featured at Le Bal. Kemper's avant-garde choice, a departure from more traditional ensembles, was enhanced by opulent accessories. She notably wore a spectacular 40-carat paraiba tourmaline necklace from V Muse Jewelry, chosen to perfectly complement the dress.
Further personalizing her look, Kemper collaborated with Jaden Smith, the new men's creative director for Christian Louboutin, to select a pair of dazzling heels. This family-oriented approach to her ensemble, from the gown to the footwear, underscored Kemper's desire to integrate her personal history and connections into her debut on the international stage.
