Prince William and Kate Middleton, along with their three children, have arrived at Balmoral Castle in Scotland for the annual late-summer royal family gathering. This event occurs as Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are set to return to the United Kingdom for an extended stay, with their children, Archie and Lilibet, expected to begin school in Britain this September.

Balmoral Castle, a traditional royal retreat since Queen Victoria's time, is located in the Scottish Highlands. King Charles was officially welcomed to the residence shortly before William and Kate's arrival. While Harry grew up visiting Balmoral, it is understood that Meghan has not visited the estate where Queen Elizabeth II passed away in 2022.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex will maintain their homes in California and Portugal while establishing a new base in Britain. Their plans were shared with King Charles, who reportedly welcomes the opportunity for more private family time. This move follows a recent summer visit where Harry and Meghan brought Archie and Lilibet to the UK, including their children's first reunion with their grandfather in over four years.
