In a unique twist on high fashion, a royal milliner is bringing her talents from Buckingham Palace to the world of canine couture. Awon Golding, who has created hats for the Princess of Wales and Duchess of Sussex, is releasing her eighth annual "Haute Dogs" calendar, featuring 12 rescue pups dressed in fabulous headwear.
Golding, along with other acclaimed milliners, has crafted paw-sitively fetching designs that mirror the hats worn by Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle. The calendar, priced at $21, aims to raise funds for the United Kingdom-based dog rescue charity Underdog International. Each portrait showcases the pup's story and the inspiration behind the stylish chapeaux.
"Making hats for rescue dogs never gets old!" Golding told People magazine in an interview on October 21, 2025. "As fun and frivolous as it might seem, I know we are making a real impact, and I absolutely love it." The milliner has raised over $160,500 for dog charities worldwide since the launch of her first calendar.

Golding's designs have also been worn by celebrities like Lady Gaga, Kylie Minogue, and Dita Von Teese. But her passion project of dressing up rescue pups in regal-inspired headwear is a venture she is proud to be a part of, as it helps support Underdog International's mission to rescue, rehabilitate, and find forever homes for dogs in need.
