Royal Family Finds Refuge in Sprawling Forest Lodge in Windsor

In a move to find a fresh start, the Prince and Princess of Wales have relocated their family to the sprawling Forest Lodge in Windsor. The royal couple, both 43 years old, made the transition during the school half-term with their three children - Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis.

The relocation plans were first announced in August 2022, with the family previously residing at Adelaide Cottage in Windsor. The move to Forest Lodge, a considerably larger property with eight bedrooms, comes after a challenging few years for the royals. Shortly after their initial move to Windsor, the family mourned the passing of Queen Elizabeth II in September 2022, leading to Prince William's ascension as the new heir.

The situation further intensified in 2024 when both Princess Kate and King Charles were diagnosed with cancer. While the King continues to receive treatment, the Princess of Wales announced she was in remission earlier this year. The family's transition to Forest Lodge, described as their "forever home," provides an opportunity to find stability and solace.

The new residence, located just four miles from their previous abode, allows the Wales family to maintain proximity to Princess Kate's parents, Carole and Michael, who are actively involved in their grandchildren's lives. The move also enables Prince William and Princess Kate to balance their royal duties with parenting responsibilities.
