The Royal Cornwall Show, a major summer event near Wadebridge, is preparing to welcome tens of thousands of visitors from Thursday to Saturday. Organizers and growers are curating inspiring displays of greenery and homegrown produce for the flower marquee, even with a prediction of wet weather at the start of the event.
This renowned celebration of farming, food, and rural life traces its origins back to a 1793 ploughing match. It has since evolved into a substantial event featuring approximately 1,000 trade stands, livestock competitions, arena entertainment, and live music.
At the entrance to the flower marquee, The National Garden Scheme presents a show garden designed to emphasize the positive impact of gardening on mental health and well-being. Local growers, like Richard Budge, are showcasing vegetables cultivated at home, with one designer, Graham Sykes, embracing a 'jungle' theme for his bold planting.
