Lineman's Daily Meal: Feeding Rourkela's Strays

In Rourkela, lineman Siba Kumar Behera has been a beacon of compassion for stray animals for the past seven years. His daily routine begins before work, cooking rice and chicken to feed the neighborhood's stray dogs. He ensures they eat from separate plates and cleans the area afterward, demonstrating a remarkable commitment.

Behera's selflessness extends to covering all costs, spending approximately Rs 6,000 each month from his salary for dog food and basic medicines. His animal welfare efforts were particularly amplified during the Covid-19 pandemic, when he took on the responsibility of feeding nearly 50 dogs daily.

Driven by a deep-seated love for animals, Behera decided to dedicate his resources to stray dogs after witnessing their plight. He continues this mission with unwavering resolve, stating his intention to feed hungry strays for the rest of his life, finding immense joy in his actions.
