Summary
- Priyank Panchal retired from first-class cricket in May 2025
- Priyank and wife Kalna Shukla enjoy playing garba for 3-4 days during Navratri
- Kalna is more enthusiastic about garba than Priyank

In September 2025, former first-class cricketer Priyank Panchal is relishing the opportunity to celebrate Navratri in a more relaxed manner. Panchal, who retired from cricket in May 2025, no longer has the pressure of early morning training, allowing him to fully immerse himself in the festivities.
Panchal's wife, Kalna Shukla, a sports psychologist, reveals that her husband has been diligently practicing his dance steps for the garba celebrations. While Panchal admits that he can only master one step with difficulty, the couple still enjoys playing garba with friends for three to four days during Navratri.
Kalna, who has fond memories of attending garba events at CEPT and NID during her childhood, prefers the traditional sheri garbas, where the dance steps are not overly complicated. The couple ensures they return home by 12:30 or 1 AM, avoiding late nights and maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
Panchal, who as a child would often follow his sister while she played garba, now finds great joy in being able to participate in the festivities. He considers Navratri to be one of the world's most unique festivals and feels proud as a Gujarati to be a part of the celebrations.
