A two-week-old kitten, discovered with a significant head injury, has been successfully nursed back to health and adopted.
The kitten was found by a member of the public and promptly taken to a veterinary clinic in Spalding. Following initial treatment, she was transferred to the local Cats Protection centre, where she received the name Willa Wonka, a nod to her distinctive facial appearance resulting from the injuries. Her survival was uncertain at first, with vets describing her condition as 'touch and go'.
Remarkably, Willa proved to be a fighter. She began to eat and regained her ability to walk independently. Although she initially required constant eye drops due to an inability to blink properly, this need has since subsided as her wounds healed. Now 17 weeks old, Willa has overcome her traumatic beginnings and has been happily adopted by a local family, embarking on a new chapter of her life.
