On November 15, 2025, a heartwarming story emerged about a golden retriever named Pearl, who is adjusting to the simple joys of home life after being adopted just two weeks ago. Pearl, a 3-year-old rescue dog, had never been allowed on a bed before, but now, every night, she "forgets" how to get up, creating a touching nightly routine between her and her new owner, Samantha Vicha.
A video of Pearl's bedtime struggle has gone viral, receiving over 236,000 views on Instagram. In the clip, Pearl can be seen hesitating on the edge of the bed before eventually figuring out how to climb up. Vicha, 23, from Columbus, Ohio, says that seeing Pearl get on the bed for the first time "completely melted" her heart. "She looked unsure at first, but once she realized it was soft and safe, she just sank into it. It was such a sweet moment. She sleeps so deeply now."
Since then, the bed has become Pearl's favorite spot, and she now sleeps there every night. Vicha is thrilled to see how quickly Pearl has settled into her new home and how much joy her story has brought to others. "I'm so glad Pearl's moment could bring a little joy to others too," she says.
