Ranchi on High Alert: 200 Spots Guarded for Shivratri

On Sunday, Ranchi's district administration will heighten security, deploying forces to 200 designated spots to ensure law and order during the Shivratri celebrations. Thousands are expected to participate in vibrant Shiv Baraat processions across the city.
Key areas like Pahari Mandir will see a robust deployment of over 20 magistrates and 500 police officers, supported by a control room led by executive magistrate Md Jafar Hasnat. The Sureshwar Dham Mandir in Chutia will also experience heavy police presence.
Extensive traffic restrictions will be in place on Sunday. Barricades will be erected on multiple roads leading to Pahari Mandir. Heavy vehicle entry into the city will be prohibited from 5 am to 10 pm and diverted to outskirts' checkpoints.
Movement for small vehicles will also be rerouted around procession paths, particularly in the Ratu area. Traffic SP Rakesh Singh stated that restrictions near Pahari Mandir begin at 2 am on Sunday, with diversions for all vehicle types to manage the flow during the festivities.
