- Incident occurred last week in Flintshire, North Wales
- Johnson parked his van under the bridge to catch the man

On a recent day last week, musician Matt Johnson was driving in Flintshire, North Wales when he witnessed a harrowing scene. As he waited at a traffic light, Johnson spotted a man desperately hanging from a footbridge over a busy road, seemingly intent on taking his own life. Without hesitation, Johnson sprang into action, quickly parking his VW Transporter van directly underneath the bridge.
Within 20 seconds, the man dropped onto the top of Johnson's van, narrowly avoiding a potentially fatal fall. Emergency services arrived a few minutes later and climbed onto the van to help the vulnerable man to safety. Despite the damage to his vehicle, Johnson has no regrets about his actions, stating, "I do not regret it. I would do it again."
The incident, which temporarily closed the B5129 Chester Road West in Queensferry, has been praised by hundreds of people who have commented on Johnson's social media posts about the event. Many have urged him to set up a fundraiser to help cover the repair costs for his van, as his insurance company says he may be liable for the damages. However, Johnson remains focused on the fact that he was able to save the man's life, saying, "I left all my details with the police, but I've never heard a response. I do not know his name or what happened after I left the incident."
