Six women from Nagpur are actively participating in the 'Queens on the Wheel' expedition, an all-women motorcycle tour spanning Central India. This event, now in its third edition, commenced in Bhopal on International Women's Day, organized by Madhya Pradesh Tourism and CAC-All-rounder Adventures to champion women's empowerment and adventure tourism.
The expedition, flagged off by Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, includes a diverse group of women bikers exploring the region's rich cultural and historical tapestry. Their journey commenced with visits to the Sanchi Stupa, a significant Buddhist heritage site, and the ancient rock-cut temples of Udayagiri Caves.
Covering over 1,400 kilometers, the expedition's route extends to Chanderi, Shivpuri, Kuno National Park, and Khajuraho. Nagpur rider Maithili Singh highlighted the expedition's aim to foster confidence and independence among women, while also showcasing the tourism potential of Madhya Pradesh.
The expedition celebrates resilience and adventure, emphasizing the progress of women in traditionally male-dominated activities. It aims to inspire more women to take up adventure sports and explore the diverse heritage of India.
