- Surgery revealed a corn cob lodged in the puppy's intestine.
- Popcorn has since recovered and found a loving new home.

A four-month-old puppy, Popcorn, arrived at Pasadena Humane in California exhibiting severe symptoms including vomiting and diarrhea, raising initial concerns of parvovirus. Despite negative test results for the contagious illness, Popcorn's condition persisted, marked by lethargy and lack of appetite.
Further diagnostics, including X-rays and an ultrasound, indicated a potential intestinal blockage. Veterinary staff proceeded with exploratory surgery, where they discovered a corn cob obstructing Popcorn's intestine. This foreign object ingestion was the cause of his critical illness.
Following the successful removal of the corn cob, Popcorn underwent a period of recovery. He has since blossomed into a happy and healthy puppy and has already been adopted into a new home. The shelter shared his story to educate pet owners about the dangers of foreign object ingestion and the necessity of prompt veterinary attention for sick animals.
