Princess Michael of Kent is reportedly suffering from a serious illness after experiencing a stroke, according to recent reports. She is said to be bedridden following this health setback.
This reported stroke marks the latest in a series of misfortunes for the 81-year-old royal. In December 2024, she sustained two broken wrists after a fall on the stairs at her Kensington Palace home. Despite the injuries, she attended King Charles's pre-Christmas lunch that month.
In 2020, Princess Michael fell ill with COVID-19 and subsequently experienced blood clots, according to some reports. The year 2024 also saw a personal tragedy for her family with the death of her son-in-law, Thomas Kingston, who died by suicide in February at the age of 45.
Princess Michael described her son-in-law as a "lovely man" and expressed her shock at his death, stating the family had no inkling of any problems. Her daughter, Lady Gabriella Kingston, also spoke of their "deeply loving and trusting" marriage.
