Secret Royal Wedding: Fewer Than 20 Guests Attend

Princess Beatrice and Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi celebrated their marriage with a small, intimate family ceremony on July 17, 2020. The nuptials took place at The Royal Chapel of All Saints at Royal Lodge, Windsor, with the Queen's permission. This private service was arranged after their planned May wedding was postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic. The couple adhered to government guidelines, ensuring a safe celebration with their closest family members.

For her special day, Princess Beatrice wore a vintage ivory and satin dress on loan from Queen Elizabeth II, originally designed by Norman Hartnell. The gown was elegantly remodelled and fitted for Beatrice by the Queen's dresser and loyal dressmaker. She complemented the dress with sparkly Valentino heels previously worn to other royal weddings. The bride also wore the sentimental Queen Mary diamond fringe tiara, borrowed from Her Majesty.

The wedding rings were also unique; Beatrice's platinum and diamond ring was custom-made by British jeweller Shaun Leane, a departure from royal tradition. Edoardo chose a vintage gold band. The couple's wedding bouquet featured jasmine, roses, and sweet peas, with sprigs of myrtle, a royal tradition. The bouquet was later placed on the tomb of the Unknown Warrior in Westminster Abbey.

Fewer than 20 guests attended the ceremony, including the Queen, Prince Philip, and Edoardo's son, Wolfie, who served as best man and pageboy. The ceremony was officiated by The Reverend Canon Paul Wright and The Reverend Canon Martin Poll, with all social distancing measures strictly followed. Two poems and prayers were included, and music was played, though no hymns were sung.
