28 Jan
Summary
- Prince William promoted youth empowerment in London.
- He visited a garden centre and potted plants.
- The event highlighted the We Move FWD programme.

Prince William recently participated in a youth empowerment initiative in north London. He visited a garden centre to learn about the BBC Children in Need's We Move FWD programme. During the engagement, the Prince was pictured potting plants alongside English rapper Big Zuu, real name Zuhair Hassan. The 10-year We Move FWD programme collaborates with BBC Radio 1Xtra to provide opportunities for Black children and young people in the UK.
This visit followed Prince William's recent engagements in Bristol, where he explored futuristic mobility scooters at a robotics lab and met finalists of his Earthshot Prize. He also installed an innovative filtration technology system developed by Matter, a finalist in last year's Earthshot Prize competition, at Kensington Palace and Anmer Hall. The system aims to prevent microplastics from entering waterways.
Meanwhile, the Princess of Wales has also been active, undertaking engagements focused on community and the healing power of nature. Recent visits to Wakefield, Bradford, and the Peak District highlighted these themes. The Prince and Princess of Wales have returned to their duties with a renewed focus at the start of the new year.
