A surprising twist of fate unfolded for Lexie Prewett when a family friend's matchmaking attempt led her to the wrong Troutt brother. Prewett, 29, revealed on her "Stay True" podcast that she was initially set up with Preston Troutt, not realizing Grant Troutt, 29, was also a single son.
Her connection to the Troutt family began when she sought a venue to launch her book after recently moving to California. This led to a lengthy conversation with Grant's mother, who Prewett found to be "amazing" and with whom she discussed potentially grabbing coffee. This woman is now Prewett's mother-in-law.
Prewett's friend then introduced her to Preston Troutt, a connection that ultimately fizzled out, with no dates or communication occurring. She later discovered she had been set up on a blind date with Grant, whom she had only seen once before at church.
Grant was immediately smitten, recalling he "dropped to [his] knees" upon seeing her. Six months after his return from a trip, they reconnected and went on their first date, hitting it off immediately. The couple, who tied the knot in 2022, have acknowledged their dating journey "was not perfect," wishing they had "gone slower on the emotions."
In January 2025, Prewett gave birth to their daughter, Hosanna Rose, two years after their wedding.
