James Tofalli, also known as the Piano Man, is currently on an ambitious 874-mile cycling journey from Land's End to John O'Groats. He is uniquely accompanied by a full upright piano, which he transports on a purpose-built cargo bike. Tofalli began his journey on July 11th, accompanied by his cocker spaniel, Jeff.
His mission extends beyond the physical trek; Tofalli aims to spread joy, advocate for mental health and autism awareness, and break down barriers to music. He is fundraising to install and maintain pianos in public spaces, drawing from his personal experience of overcoming addiction and ADHD with the help of public pianos.
This endeavor is a second attempt for Tofalli, whose previous journey in 2021 was halted when he was charged with illegally transporting a piano. This time, he is determined to reach his destination, although the exact completion date remains flexible. His efforts are self-funded through his busking performances along the route.
