In Udupi, Karnataka, on November 5, 2025, Sri Vishwaprasanna Tirtha Swami of the Pejawar Mutt inaugurated the month-long 'Bruhat Gitotsava' festival. During the inauguration, the Pejawar seer stated that fulfilling one's duties is the main path to success in life.
The event has been organized by Sri Sugunendra Tirtha Swami of the Paryaya Puttige Mutt, who will complete his fourth Paryaya (term as head priest) on January 17, 2026. As part of the festival, an international conference on the Bhagavad Gita will be held on November 12, 2025. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to visit the Sri Krishna Mutt on November 28 as part of the event.
The Puthige Mutt seer emphasized that the Bhagavad Gita should be considered the 'Constitution for the world,' as it is a guiding light for all of humanity, not just Hindus. He believes that if everyone respects the Gita, it will bring order to the world and give everyone the right to live in it.
