Passengers Celebrate Navratri with Lively Garba Dance at Goa Airport

Last month, on September 29, 2025, a group of passengers booked on a Surat-bound flight from Goa faced an unexpected delay. The flight, scheduled to depart at 5 pm, was held up for 5 hours due to a technical issue with the aircraft.

Rather than letting the delay dampen their spirits, the passengers and airline staff decided to turn the airport into a vibrant celebration of Navratri, the nine-day Hindu festival honoring the goddess Durga. A flight attendant quickly organized speakers, and soon the terminal was filled with the rhythmic beats of traditional Garba music.

Passengers, including a man named Mayur who was eager to reach Surat to participate in the festivities, enthusiastically joined the dance circle, twirling and swaying to the lively folk songs. Even the airline staff couldn't resist the infectious energy, tapping their feet and dancing alongside the travelers.

The impromptu Garba celebration, captured in a viral video, created a joyous atmosphere at the Goa airport, transforming what could have been a frustrating delay into a memorable cultural experience for all involved.
