A stray dog, Pintu, who was found completely paralyzed in Hazaribag around ten days prior to June 15, 2026, is now fully mobile. Priyal Akhouri Singh, a 28-year-old research associate and animal rescuer, along with her organization Kritagya Group, spearheaded the dog's recovery.
Pintu was discovered in critical condition on June 3, with survival prospects uncertain. Under the guidance of retired veterinarian Hemant Victor Shaw, the team employed a comprehensive treatment plan. This included physiotherapy, infrared therapy, and hydrotherapy, notably involving exercises in Hazaribag lake.
Within days of treatment, Pintu showed significant progress, moving from slight leg movements to crawling. By June 12, she was able to stand and soon began walking. After approximately ten days of continuous care, Pintu was released near Okni lake on June 14, astounding onlookers with her return to full mobility.
Singh, who has dedicated six years to rescuing and treating stray animals through her "red ambulance" vehicle and the Kritagya Group, emphasized the importance of kindness towards animals. She believes that love and compassion are reciprocated, with Pintu's recovery serving as a testament to this philosophy.
