A resilient feline, identified as Oreo, is currently seeking a new home following his rescue from an abandoned car. He has spent the past few months under the care of Cats Protection in East Sussex, where he underwent urgent veterinary treatment. Initially found with his white fur discolored by engine oil and unable to properly open his eyes, Oreo required immediate medical attention.
Veterinarians diagnosed Oreo with entropion, a condition where eyelids roll inward, causing eyelashes to scratch the eyes. Unfortunately, due to significant corneal changes, one of his eyes had to be surgically removed. Despite this significant challenge, Oreo has adapted remarkably well to life with one eye and is described as a happy, affectionate survivor.
Oreo now enjoys receiving attention from his carers, often pawing for pets. His fur has regrown beautifully, reflecting the care he has received. To help offset the considerable costs associated with Oreo's treatment and ongoing care, the charity has launched a £3,000 fundraising campaign. Any excess funds raised will be directed towards assisting other cats requiring urgent medical intervention.
